📏 Who Is Jimmy For?
Mia is ideal for:
Small dogs with narrow facial structure
Small Slim-headed breeds
Petite long-snouted dogs
Petite sighthound types
⚠️ We do not recommend sizing by breed alone. Head shape varies hugely within breeds.
To ensure the correct fit, please follow our Measuring Guide before ordering.
🐾 Why Small Dogs Deserve Thoughtful Design
Small dogs are often unfairly labelled as “yappy,” described as having “small dog syndrome,” or dismissed as not being “real dogs.” In reality, they experience the world very differently their size can make everyday environments feel overwhelming and unpredictable.
They are also more likely to attract unwanted attention, with people often reaching out to touch them without consent. For dogs who are already unsure, this can add further stress and discomfort.
For many small dogs, vocalisation is a primary way of communicating fear, discomfort, or uncertainty. These behaviours are not flaws, but important signals that a dog is struggling to cope.
A muzzle can be just as valuable for small dogs as it is for larger dogs. It supports safety, responsible guardianship, and allows training to progress at the dog’s pace. Muzzles may also be used for scavenging prevention, when meeting new people, during dog interactions, or for veterinary visits.
In some countries, dogs of all sizes are legally required to wear muzzles in certain public settings, such as transport or busy areas.
The Jimmy Dog Muzzle was created with this in mind, recognising that small dogs deserve the same level of thoughtful design, comfort, and respect as any other dog.

If selecting the foam-padded noseband, Chicago screws are used for attachment. Two shorter screws are included if you later remove the foam.
💬 Not Sure If Jimmy Is Right?
Choosing a dog muzzle can feel overwhelming — we get it.
That’s why we strongly recommend using our Measuring Guide before purchasing. The correct size ensures:
- Safe panting space
- Secure fit
- Avoids rubbing
- Confident, comfortable wear
If you’re between sizes or unsure, measuring is always better than guessing by breed, or reach out to our team via Support@themuzzlemovement.com and we can support you..
The Muzzle Movement Difference
We design muzzles that allow dogs to:
- Pant
- Drink
- Take treats
- Move comfortably
Because a muzzle should be to provide safety and comfort - not as punishment.
