We have tried many muzzles for my sighthound cross. And all of them she has still been able to catch rabbits through. This is the first muzzle that has stopped her. We use the guard as well as the muzzle.
we bought the scavenger guard for our dog and its been a life saver! its good quality and holds up well even when hes digging around to find things to eat, its easy to attatch and take off and looks great! We're now planning on using it for when he ges neutered so he can wear his muzzle instead of a big cone
Love this! Super easy to take on and off as needed.
It’s been stopping our doggo from getting to rocks/street trash, and has been helping immensely with our ‘leave it’ training.
I love the idea but the quality unfortunately is not very good. The first one was so stuck that it cracked when I carefully tried to take it off. Amazing customer service sent me a new one because it was deemed faulty. Now this morning taking the new one off (it didn't feel stuck and I wasn't careless, just took it off as usual), that one cracked even worse so it actually broke. Would love a design that allowed for it to just fold down to give treats, that it was attached in the bottom end and that you could just flip it down. Maybe not possible, but an idea to make the taking on- off- process much easier.
Highly recommend the scavenger guard for all scavengers! Really snug fit, doesn't fall off and is easy to clean. So helpful that it is detachable which means I can take it off when I want to do some focussed training around 'leave it' but have the security of the muzzle slowing her down if needed. And even with it on, I can still feed treats through the side of the muzzle.
I love the security that the scavenger guard gives 😀
My 2 always try and eat whatever snack was dropped from the previous person. I would rather that snack get smeared on the front of the guard than down my dogs throat! These work out wonderful and stay on without me worrying about it falling off during our adventures❤️
The fit of the muzzle and scavenger guard is perfect. She can’t obsessively eat poop anymore, but I can feed her treats through the side holes. Our walks are relaxed, instead of me hovering over her checking if she just sniffs or eats. She behaves like a ‘normal’ dog now. Running, playing and sniffing instead of obsessively searching for poop. The hole at the nose is perfect for sniffing and she finaly has enough pant room with a muzzle on.
I'm so in love with this! It stops my girl eating everything she can fine thank you so much muzzle movement!
The guard gave me peace of mind on walks when Lylah was off leash so we could both enjoy our time equally with me worrying about her eatting things she shouldn’t!
My dog can’t really scavenge even just with the muzzle on it’s own, however for certain places, and especially in winter the scavenger guard gives me extra piece of mind knowing he won’t get anything through.
After searching for years, I finally found a muzzle with a detachable scavenger guard that fit my dog perfectly. 10/10 definitely recommend for all the scavengers out there.
The scavenger guard is perfect to prevent my dogs from picking stuff from the ground, and also to prevent licking instead of using a cone. I love that it is removable so my dogs can still use their mouth to pick small objects such as treats when I take it off but still need them to be muzzled. The great part is that it doesn't get up to the nose, so it doesn't prevent sniffing ; even with the long version !
Perfect fit
The scavenger guard is 3d printed and snapped along the printed lines the first time I put the guard on. I glued it back together but for the price it definitely should not break that easily.
as some other customers pointed it the quality is the major default, it's very basic 3D print so as you could expect feels rough, no flexible at all and easily cracks around the different layers, i ordered a size sunny in black, which came home with a little crack on the lower part, fixed with super glue but it didn't hold long and now it's just broken, i really wish it was made out of the same plastic as the muzzle basket even if it meant heavier because paying so much for a not very resistant 3D print is jst sad for people who have really determined scavenger dogs
I think the scavanger guard is very nice bc you can choose if you want it or not, it takes 2 sek to take it off and same to put it on again. We go fish alot and with this, he can run free and I can be chill that he won't eat a rotten fish with a hook or something while he's running around 😊
Disappointed as our dog really needs this. Scavenger guards are expensive for what they are and also poor quality. Of the four we have ordered only two actually fit properly. One is loose and keeps falling off. The most recent was clearly poor quality and didn't clip on to either of our muzzles.
I originally went for the basic scavenger guard because I wanted to be able to pop it off and give my dog treats on walks. Unfortunately it falls off constantly. We have had to retrace our steps numerous times as we are often walking in the woods and there is no sound when it falls off. Luckily we found it each time until the most recent. If I could do it over again, I'd order the extra secure option from the get go. Both are quite expensive for a product that seems to be 3D printed.
The scavenger gaurd doesn’t seem super secure and you can pop it off super easy but amazingly my dog hasn’t managed to get hers off yet.. She’s only had the muzzle on for 1 day so far though! I’m not super confident in it but so far so good 🤷🏼♀️ definitely a genius concept!
these are 3d printed, and its obvious. the layer lines are very noticeable and it has some rough edges around the clips. but it works well, its easy to put on and take off and does its job. took me a minute to figure out how it matches up with the muzzle, but once you know how it attatches its very quick and easy. does the job, although I was disappointed with the print quality.
Honestly amazing! Clips on really well and I've never had a dog manage to take it off yet but it's not a struggle for me to remove it.
I actually ended up having to use this when one of my dogs had a medical issue. He finds cones and donuts incredibly upsetting but wearing a muzzle was something he doesn't mind.
It was perfect for having him leave his wound alone while staying comfortable. I have a female dog due for desexing soon and I plan on using it for her surgery too.

Recently bought a muzzle for my rescue dog who is nervous around people and she absolutely loves wearing it. It’s amazing quality and extremely lightweight so she doesn’t even realise she has it on.

Muzzle training Drako just in case was very intimidating to begin. I never wanted him to look like a big scary dog that is aggressive. All muzzles for Cane Corsos are covered in scary teeth and ammunition or not made for them at all. The Mitzy Muzzle was a beautiful relief for him and he doesn’t mind wearing it. The hole is perfect size for an UTZ cheese ball LOL
So cute! I will say it's a bit confusing how to put these on exactly. I did cut the velcro so it doesn't hang.
My dog loves his new muzzle! Fits his head and shape shape perfectly. He is able to drink, receive treats, pant and play with toys with his muzzle on. In addition, the quality of the muzzle is high quality.
